Printing Information
Offset Lithography is the process by which an original piece of art is
reproduced. This is done by separating the colors by scanning the image and
importing it into a computer. Utilizing this information, the press recreates
all the colors of the original artwork, using the four color printing process.
During this process, Nancy met with two color specialists and personally oversaw
and directed the decisions concerning final color balances.
Paper Information
The paper chosen is an archival paper, which means that it is acid-free and
will not discolor or deteriorate over time. The original watercolors were done
on Aquarelle Arches hot pressed 140 lb. paper. This is a smooth surface watercolor
paper, and the limited edition paper choice was made to match the color and
surface of the original.
These prints are of a size to fit into a standard 16" X 20" frame with allowances for a single or double mat.
Limited Editions
Limited Editions pertain to a set number of reproductions done. The number is
established, and no further prints will be done. In the case of these watercolors,
each print was done in a limited edition run of 500 prints. They have been individually
numbered and signed by the artist. The numbers will appear on the lower side
of the print to the left of the signature. An example would be 122/500, meaning
it would be print #122 out of an edition of 500. The plates used in the printing
process were destroyed after the print run, thus eliminating any future copies.
